The Three Foundations of Animal Reiki
The Let Animals Lead® Method of Reiki is based on three foundations to guide practitioners for most ethical and successful outcomes when sharing Reiki with animals and humans. The three foundations are: the Reiki Precepts, the Six Pillars of Animal Reiki and the Practitioners Code of Ethics.

Level One
Shoden
“Beginning Teachings”
Develop a strong foundation in Animal Reiki techniques & principles that can transform your spiritual practice and life with animals.
Students will explore:
- How to cultivate a daily self-practice along side animals
- The Animal Reiki Practitioner Code of Ethics & the Six Pillars of Animal Reiki
- Techniques for grounding, expansion, and connection to help you become a magnet to even the most sensitive animals
- The traditional Japanese meaning of Reiki and how it relates to the healing of self and others
- Traditional practice of Joshin Kokyu Ho and Seishin Toitsu, and how to use them with animals
- Reiki Precept meditations and how to use with animals
- Hands-on Reiki self-treatment, and how to incorporate animals into these sessions
- Best ethics for sharing Reiki with animals
- Reiki chair sessions for people
- Techniques for grounding, expansion, and connection to help you become an animal magnet to even the most sensitive animals!
- A philosophy of "being" Reiki "with" your animals, rather than "doing" Reiki "to" them.
Level Two
Okuden
“Inner Teachings”
Incorporate meditation to support your spiritual connections for self-healing and enrich your healing relationships with animals.
Students will explore:
- Deepening techniques for grounding, expansion, and connection to become energetic safe havens for animals.
- The Hatsurei Ho meditation with animals
- Meditations for working with the Reiki Precepts & animals
- The Japanese teachings on the first 3 Reiki symbols and mantras
- Techniques for “distant” healing
- Creating a professional practice and volunteering in the shelter setting
Level Three
Shinpiden
“Mystery Teachings”
Deepen your spiritual practice as Reiki with animals ripples into every aspect of your life, beyond your daily practice.
Students will explore:
- Traditional Japanese techniques including the 4th symbol and mantra, and how to modify them with animals
- Instruction and practice in how to perform reiju
- How to share Animal Reiki ethically and for the best success with animals
- Totem animals for healing and transformation
- Philosophy of energy and light in the system of Animal Reiki and how to hold this space with animals
- Instruction on creating successful classes for your own students
